EARLY LIFE AND FOUNDATIONS (1970's - 1990's):
  • DORA A. MANN-EWING raised and bred Clipperholic in Decatur, Illinois. Clipperholic was immersed in an environment of industrialism and entrepreneurship from an early age. Clipperholic father figure was a laborer of the local industrial complex and provided structure, while Clipperholic mother was an aspiring cosmetologist who embodies evangelism. Her dedication to her craft and the Word of God laid a solid foundation in Clipperholic upbringing, instilling a desire to demonstrate God will through entrepreneurship.

    During Clipperholic coming-of-age years in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Clipperholic was active in sports in high school and neighborhood parks. However, Clipperholic life took a tumultuous turn when succumbing to the underworld in 1996, leading to a six-year sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections. During incarceration, Clipperholic pursued vocational programs like computer technology and barber, which ignited a strong passion for the technology and barber industry.

BUILDING A DREAM IN ILLINOIS (1999 - 2005):
  • Upon release in 1999, Clipperholic education continued at the University of Spa and Cosmetology Arts in Springfield, Illinois. By 2000, Clipperholic made its entrepreneurial debut alongside "Chris Cuts" in Decatur, Illinois. Despite being an introvert, Clipperholic quickly stamped that barbering was its true calling. In 2003, Clipperholic expanded, purchasing a commercial building and establishing "d'Villa," as a combined barbershop and recording studio.

GROWTH IN TENNESSEE (2005 - 2010)
  • IN 2005, after gaining more experience, Clipperholic moved to Dyersburg, Tennessee. Here, Clipperholic earned the nickname "Choppa Styles" for the trendy haircuts becoming the first Black American to open a barbershop in the Historic Downtown Dyersburg, Tennessee. In 2010, Clipperholic relocated to Memphis and managed a barbershop called "Barbershop: The Remix" in the Wolf-chase Galleria Mall. Clipperholic career took a significant turn in 2011 when offered the Gloria Sidell Scholarship to enroll in Empire Beauty School cosmetology student instructor program. EXPANDING HORIZONS IN GEORGIA (2012-2018)
  • Transitioning to Atlanta in 2012, Clipperholic traveled from Atlanta and Memphis as a cosmetology educator. By 2013, Clipperholic committed as an educator at Ritz Beauty Academy in Decatur, Georgia and became a licensed barber and barber instructor by 2015. In 2018, Clipperholic was an approved continuing education provider in the State of Georgia. During this period, the Clipperholic technology platform and online barber course were also developing.

INNOVATION AND NEW BEGINNINGS IN NEVADA (2019 - PRESENT)
  • In January 2019, Clipperholic relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada, to lead a barber program as a barber instructor at Expertise Barber Institute. Simultaneously, pursuing a degree in Information Technology from Purdue University Global. This training enabled Clipperholic to integrate technology into teaching methods, developing an online barber course to apply blended learning practices..

  • Today, Clipperholic continues to innovate in the field of barbering, facilitating blended learning at Masterpiece Barber School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Clipperholic consults with students and educators on best practices for incorporating technology into the classroom, ensuring that the next generation of barbers are well-equipped for the future.
